Amalfi Coast from Salerno

I will be visiting the Amalfi Coast in the end of July, and I intend to spend 3 days there. I chose as a home base Salerno as it had the most affordable rates. My question now is, what’s the best way to get to know all the towns and move around in the area?
I’ve heard about using the ferry or even 24h bus cards but I want to be sure what’s the best option (cost-benefit).
Thanks for helping!

Hi there!

Cost-benefit wise, the SITA buses would be the most affordable. In July they run from early in the morning until late in the day and are quite frequent.

For Salerno-Amalfi you need the AC3 ticket which is € 2.40.

The buses tend to be crowded, but not as crowded as those in the Sorrento direction.

Consider also the ferry option, it’s € 8.00:

The ferry is far more pleasant and a more suitable way of traveling along the Amalfi Coast, although the bus drive on the Amalfi Coast’s winding roads is a not-to-be-missed experience in itself.

Perhaps on your first day of exploring the Amalfi Coast, get there one way and return the other way. This way you can see both sides and better plan for the next days.
